The High-Elves
One of the noble races of Elves.
The High-Elves are a race of elves related to The Low-Elves. High-Elves are noted for their bloodshot eyes, overly friendly nature, proclivity towards pseudo-philosophy, inability to remember things, and of course their never-ending hunger for snack foods.
Once an epic and industrious race, the Epic Elves of this bygone age are so different from High Elves as to be classified by Elfiologist (elvenologist? Elfosophers?) as a distinct evolutionary offshoot.
There are only two recorded High Elvin Kings. This could be because the kings are very long lived, or because the High Elves record none of their own history and so the only kings recorded are those who had a strong influence on greater events in Battal's history.
The two that are recorded are the unpopular Gribow Sleepyeyes and the popular and unexpectedly cunning H'wel Hazeweed-In-My-Pockets.
In the later eras, the primary settlement of the High-Elves was Greytf'ld'd on the southern most of the Great Plateaus.
Origins of the name
No one really knows why the High-Elves are called as such. It's possible that they are superior in intellect or power to The Low-Elves, although the way they are portrayed in the literature generally shows the opposite to be true.
