Falconriders of the Dim Elves

The mounted armed forces of the Dim Elves, the Falconriders were known for their bravery, discipline, and simple but effective techniques. Or rather, they were not at all known for them, but they did indeed possess them. The Dim Elves are generally considered to be simple folk entirely absent of any skills or merit, where as in fact, although they are a simple people, they are not without their certain cunning, and ability to show resourcefulness in the face of need.

Kept in reserve "just in case" the regiment of Falconriders stood at the ready for eons, with no race seeing a need to attack the dim elves. Deep within their secluded marches, the Dim Elves were drilling and training with their barbed harpoons and nut-tooth daggers, and practicing aerial maneuvers on their majestic red Mount Falcons.

It was not until the Unlight War that the troops were called up to join in the fray.

"Oh! This is pointless!" bellowed Gologas Izzabulli. A general murmer of ascent rose from the gather Elves.

"Noble Elves, please," K'los intoned evenly, "let goodly Regent Nutgather speak."

There was a moment as the muttering died down. After a pause Tuck Nutgather began again, blandly.

"Well... As I was saying... Defense of the north could fall to us."

Several council members chuckled, indulgently.

Nonplussed, Nutgather continued, "With our Falconriders I feel quite confident that..."

Gologas jumped to his feet, sending his chair skittering backwards across the tile. "FALCONRIDERS!?! YOU have FALCONRIDERS?!? WE don't have FALCONRIDERS!!!"

The Falconriders went on to enjoy a very strong first showing, winning their first forray into real combat in year 26,984 (TUE), the Battle of Terrible Vampyre Tactics.

Unfortunately, although the Dim Elves faught bravely, in year 26,986 (TUE), most of the Dim Elf Falconriders are wiped out by Armba Alomba and the army of Dark Whiffle Vampyres in the Battle of Strewn Feathers. Even then, few took notice.
