Barely Flattenable Weaselfox
Bogyn's Nastiness Rating: 28 (Really Nasty)
Creature Families: Bestial, Magimal
The most unexpected foes of the Windfield Plains, the barely flattenable weaslefoxes would just be orangish, fox-eared weasles with the ability to compress themselves to the width of "nearly a pinch." However, thanks to mutations brought on by special Air magic hotzones in the Windfield Planes, they have an ability not suggested by their names: flight.
An unprepared plebian first sees them as mysterious orangish-brown lines flitting through the undergrowth. Before he can even fight back, they rise from the tall grass, dozens of flying furry cylinders squeeking and nibbling and squeaking, louder and louder and slightly harder, until the poor victim is overwhelmed by the hordes of barely flattened fuzzy kill-tubes and slowly eaten (slowly as the barely flattenable weaslefox's teeth aren't the strongest around).
Only the minotaurs can handle the weaslefox menace, learned after generations of attacks made on the Southern Blood Teeth: the minotaur stands around, mouth opened, and bites down on the weasels that get near. While minotaurs find barely flattenable weaslefoxes unpalatable, biting is the easiest way to take out the little bastards without swinging around big nasty minotaur weapons and possibly hitting your friends as they are obscured under clouds of flying weasle-monsters. Tough hides and patience allow the minotaurs to bite entire swarms of weaslefoxes out of the air, hense the origin of the southern tribes' name. After slaying the weaslefoxes, the minotaurs use the fur to create handsome smocks, tea cozies, and finely-crotcheted death threats ("Death From The Side" is the most popular, with "Death From Above" moreso among taller minotaurs).
Discussion
I thought that the weaslefoxes were very flattening resistant, and so none other than the minotaurs could flatten them, but now that I think about it, I believe that those were the nearly unflattenable weaselfoxes. -tim |
