teh sploit

The tendency for Realmworlds Publishing to voraciously co-opt and canonize the lore of other franchises is notorious, and some fans think that they have spotted the company's next big move, which is not commonly known as "teh sploit". Specifically, it deals with the use of language by ELotH characters.

The popularity of online games has coincided with a change in the ELotH lexicon... one that has resulted in characters using words, abbreviations, and slang commonly used in games. The popularity of Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPGs) seems to have exponentially increased this trend.

Most would say that Realmworlds intends to create a world in which game chat is completely compatible with upcoming role-playing titles, particularly The Bloodrage Chronicles. In fact, there are certain ELotH characters that seem to speak often as if they are actually people who are playing an MMORPG inside the ELotH Universe (such as S'yrf'yl the Immortal and Quailheart).

But progenitors of "teh sploit" maintain that Realmworlds intends to co-opt the use of these terms until they are associated primarily with ELotH, and then copyright or otherwise secure their exclusivity.
