Zermapon

d. 9,488

Son of Prince Portapon, the shockingly inept. grandson of the cowardly king Julipon. An unusual mix of apathy, inborn tendancies, and "experimental parenting techniques" lead young Zermapon to develop his own signature brand of evil that strangely went unidentified for the first 40 years of his life.

Although Zermapon enjoyed torturing and disecting small animals, and then larger animals, and then ultimately servants and then courtiers, a series of coincidences always ensured that the actions either seem justified, remain undiscovered, or have happened in a way that made the deaths appear to have been through natural causes.

At age 20, Zermapon married a young princess named Harrienna and shortly thereafter had a son they named Zonard. The princess was one of the few to recognize her husband's evil and send her young son into hiding, telling him that the boy had died due to his "unusual genital deformation."

Shortly after this, the princess died in a bizarre boating accident in the middle of a large wheat field. Zermapon went on concocting his theories about how to ruin a kingdom on the off chance that he was ever lucky enough to one day become king. His distinctive brand of ethics and morality apparently had a strict rule against patricide, but little else.

Portapon finally became king, taking posession of the famed Rubion Sword, and ruled ineptly for a year while Zermapon decided on how best to depose his father. Ultimately he merely decided to lock him in a castle tower and take the crown for himself.

Zermapon managed to rule for a year-and-a-half, perpetrating remarkable butchery and breaking all sorts of natural and human law. In fact, he passed new laws to specifically sew anarchy across his kingdom as efficiently as possible. Finally, his own courtly entourage locked him in the tower with his father. They finally found the young Zonard, who had been raised in secret far from the influences of his cowardly great grandfather, his inept grandfather, and his evil father.

Zermapon died in prison after many years, ultimately accidentally killed by his own father who also died in the same incident.

Trivia

  • Zermapon had only one testicle, which had strangely become a fairly well known trait of the royal line.
  • Zermapon kept a diary in the margins of a first edition of Mother Nancy's Fancy Cookbook (recently published). The resulting work has become an all-but holy tome for maniacal meglomaniacs across Battal.
