Wedding Ceremony

Most Wedding Ceremonies have certain similarities, regardless of region or religion. These are:

The bride's dress is in varying shades of brown and green. This represents that she is like the Earth, and should be fertile; this is also a massive hint to the bridesmaid and/or groom to get with the reproduction.

In the middle of the room there is a door adorned with flowers. The groom carries the bride over the threshold. If he cannot manage it, a crude system of pulleys and ridicule can assist him.

The bride is escorted to the groom by a large, well-armored man (so that no ruffians can steal her away). Depending on the needs of the bride, either one well-armored but unarmed man suffices, a team of armored but unarmed men, or whatever largish batallion can take a break from fighting off the hordes of unspeakable and chickthirsty horrors to defend the maid from being swept off to unspeakable realms of pain and terror.

Discussion

There's a great description of a royal ceremony in The Windfalls of Heredity, as well as the whole play Hey Merry Diddle, which is based around a much more common wedding. -Tim
