Weather

This page is for listing all the different and unusual weather paterns of Battal.

A Weather Overview of Battal

The far north in Battal was seasonal before the year 0, but after the disappearance of The Land of Thrown Fish, it turned cold and has remained so. The weather is harsh and generally wintery most of the year and north of the lands are the icy waters of the Great Iceberg Sea.

Just south of this in Mandleclang the weather is seasonal with four seasons of summer, fall, winter, and spring. Kelembad/Terle has a similar climate although coastal Terle tends to be a little warmer.

West of Mandleclang is Portund, which is an arid desert and only gets rainfall in the rainy season. West of that is Ithbarg/The Dank/Grammelgrap which tends to be generally colder than Mandleclang but is also seasonal.

In the southwest is the land of Yymp, which was for a time temperate year round but shrouded in a dense fog. After this was magically dispelled the area began having cooler winters but still rarely snow.

East of this is the land of Shadia which is also temperate year round but there are both rainy swamps and deserts here in addition to areas better suited to human habitation. East of this is Blee which has perhaps the best year round weather in Battal, averaging about 74 in the summer and about 68 in the winter.

South of this is Parsonya which is also temperate, but slightly cooler than Blee. Perhaps this is because the region is always overcast and often rainy.

To the far south is the chasm of eternal sorrow and the mountain range that contains Blackest Minathok. It rarely if ever snows here and even in winter it is rather warm. Often in the summers it is scorching hot.

Underground, The Underdeep has its own climate with four seasons, although it is offset from the seasons of Mandleclang so that when it is winter there it is summer in the Underdeep.
