The Adventures of Isaac and Raven Episode 003

Summary

Venturing into the second portal Isaac and Raven find themselves immediately underwater. Managing to swim back through the portal, they emerge soaked, coughing choking and sputtering.

Traveling into the third portal after some debate, they come out in a dark and thickly wooded forest. The shimmering portal of light through which they emerge hovers directly in the center an overgrown clearing, connected to several well traveled paths. The two decide to pick a direction and begin exploring. It's not long before they reach a clearing and hear the distant galloping of hooves.

Before they can discover who is approaching, they are set upon by Soulferic Bats. Isasc draws his blade, but finds he is unable to harm the creatures. Raven discovers that her Elemenstation is equally ineffective but at that moment a pack of Centaurs ride into the forest, the bats driven before them apparently by fear.

The Centaurs approach menacingly, but Isaac draws the Sword of the Mountain King. Immediately, the Centaurs stop, recognizing the sword as a sign of Royalty they bow down before it, pledging fealty. After some general discussion, the topic turns to the bats. The Centaurs inform Isaac and Raven of the pale-orange Eggtop plants that grow amongst the branches of certain trees. The limp and stringy plant is fashioned into adornments by the Centaurs and even small quantities of it appear to drive the bats away.

Given leave to explore the forest, and given Eggtop in order to be kept safe from Soulferic Bats, they quickly find a dilapidated shack. A fight with a Witch ensues.

In the end, Isaac and Raven get the better of the witch (whose "shak" is more like a massive mansion complete with gold inlay and polished marble on the inside) and she surrenders. As a token of her surrender she gives Isaac a small bag containing an item that she says he can use in order to pass into the portal which emerges underwater.
