The Not-A-Hat-Hat

Uncovering the origin of this headcovering has been almost as frustrating as properly determining its Hatability. When worn by a person the hat functions normally, as an un-enchanted hat would. However, when placed atop a hat, the not-a-hat enchantment activates and transforms the hat at random. Notable transformations include include piles of solid gold, delicious turkey dinners and in one unconfirmed report, a beautiful young virgin.

Unfortunately, in late 12,821 the Not-A-Hat-Hat turned a stylish fez into a duck; it was subsequently confiscated by the Item Law Makers Guild and destroyed, persuant to Law 17. It is techincally possible that the Not-A-Hat-Hat turned one of the many hats it was placed upon into a second Not-A-Hat-Hat, but if this has indeed happened no responsible party has come forth to report such an occurance.
