The Island of Parsonya

Back to Breakened Battal

The Island of Parsonya

An island created from The Kingdom of Parsonya and much of the surrounding area during the The Great Breakening. Despite being one of the most southern kingdoms of The Shield, the island became the northernmost part of the Battal archipelego after the Geotelespacial Fractarent breakened the continents.

Chasm of Eternal Sorrow now takes up the entire southern quarter of the island, casting a somber, morose, and evil haze over the entire island. The pure Sorrow eminating from the chasm has cast the island in an eerie green light. This has caused many of the residents to become unusually depressed and moody. The Chasm has become partially filled with water, making it more depressing than ever.

In the middle of the western quarter of the island is the capitol city DragonBone, which remains connected to the port city of BashRock by the reminants of The Long Road. The younger population of the island desperately seek some way to earn enough money to leave, while the elderly have resigned themselves to their fate. One custom that signifies the coming of age (and loss of hope) is the donning of an all-grey wardrobe during a certain ceremony, discarding the colorful and hopeful clothes of childhood to settle for the despair of adulthood.

At the north tip of of the island is an enormous volcano, Mt Molten, reachable by the Pheonix Road, which is infested with wild Pheonixes. Pheonix Road is ironically one of the most enjoyable parts of the island, as it is both the farthest away from the Chasm of Eternal Sorrow, and contains a lot of hot springs that serve as an excuse for people to get naked. Although it remained active for millenia, Mt. Molten never actually errupted. It gave off a pleasant warmth, and the tunnels beneath it were full of friendly Lesser Dragons.

Molten Village is a small tourist-oriented village near the sea, built on a nothern island near the volcano and connected by a large stone bridge. It is home to only a few families, but it is generally regarded as the cheeriest community on the whole island. Molten Village later grew significantly as it became "THE" port town for the island.

Immediately south of the volcano but still in the northern tip of the island is the Neverglades. Once a peaceful farming community, Vampyre attacks from the local woods blighted the land with Death and Swampy territory. The melencholy glades have become haunted by ghosts. A tiny milling village, Coocooriko, is the only group of inhabitants foolish enough to remain in the area.

The most notable landmark in this territory is the Haunted Monastary. What was once a secluded castle full of monks has had its insides and the ground beneath it hollowed out and turned into a haven for the undead, who wish to conquer the whole island. Only the Vampyre Slayers, a group of elite warriors based in a hidden bunker near the prairies are able to prevent them from doing so.

The central area of the Island of Parsonya have prairies and grasslands that are home to the Mist Hooves minotaur.

Once was once the Dead Lands of southern Parsonya has become flooded with water, creating the Dead Bay a lagoon of black and ominous water.

The Black Forest of Much Blackness had not yet formed during the era of the Great Sundering. Rather, it is refered to as the Blackmoon Woods. The Blackmoon Woods is a young wood running along the eastern coast of the island, running between two hilly areas. The forest is disturbingly silent and full of mist. The trees are healthy, but appear sick and dying. Blackmoon Woods is known to be infested with undead and Werewolves. However, beyond the forest is the Gold Coast on the very most eastern point of land of the Island, where treasure, gold, and rubian have a constant habit of washing up, making the dangerous excursion sometimes worth the trouble.

The undead were only a notable threat on this island, during the age. It seemed they thought the island was "so darn emo, it has to be our official home".
