The Burnten'ed Times

spans from 10,548 - 10,662

Timeline Events

  • 10,598 – The Rhaja Lord, the result of Resh'zantharr tampering with untime, is finally spawned, and released from his sticky incubation by Resh'zantharr.
  • 10,660 - The Rhaja Lord rides with Pulveire in command of his army of Boar Men and other horrific creations, sweeping doom down upon the unsuspecting inhabitants of Ithbarg, creating terrible havoc. However, the Rhaja Lord is incredibly bored with the sparsely inhabited nation and moves on.

Introduction

Burnten'ed Times were yet another chapter of chaos and horrific warfare that followed in the wake of The Sundering. This time period is described in Appendix D of the book Tales of Yorn. It is not yet known if these appendices will be included in the English-Language release.

Appendix D is presented as the writings of Ulfulaz the Historian, who transcribed the events of the Burnten'ed Times and the rise of the Rhaja Lord from the safety of his summer home in Mandleclang. Most of the events were first hand accounts from the squire, Garvey, his magic lance Duane, and Kroneklieve the Hammer Baron.

Excerpt from the internet translation of Appendix D

"Truly horrific was the sight... the seething streams of untime fogged through the chinks in the Khukktite armor of the Rhaja Lord as he rode at breakneck speed atop the hellish Pulveire, whose carapaced hide easily deflected the oncoming arrows. The cavalry that followed him let out a chorus of shrill wails, as their WratheSteed carriers barrelled ahead, their four hind legs propelling them like a horse, their two fore-legs slashing through the infantry with horrific crustaceous claws, leaving naught but broken bodies and boiling mucus in the wake of their plated tails...

"And above the din of battle, the shrill war-cries of Boar Men and Shazba'at shook the men of Portund to their quaking cores: "BLOOD! JUJU! RHAJA!"

Discrepancies

The concept of untime is not fully explained in Ulfulaz's account, though it seems to be some sort of quasi-temporal demonic excretion which seems to have some quality of timesorc'ley. It is possible that Ulfulaz had little knowledge of Timenes. A similar explanation is offered for Really Dark Juju, which has other para-material aspects, but is likely the product of some combination of Blood and Unlight with some other sort of demonic excrement.
