Sword of Seriously Sharp Sharpness

The sword of King Dosunk, one of the first Magic Sword Kings of Antior, was reknowned as a most famous weapon of Battal, both for how powerful it was and how nasty it was. Resembling a longsword with a rapier-esque basket hilt, the Sword of Seriously Sharp Sharpness is, in fact, so damn sharp it can cut through Elmetheric bindings and sever nigh on anything: armor, diamond, meat, whatever. The basket hilt is there because, it was speculated that if dropped it could cut straight to the earth's core and, well, nobody's gave much thought to what would happen, but it was generally believed to be a bad thing.

The sword would often cut straight through its guard if it became loose from wear, and was often secured by a lanyard or chain just to be safe. However, this unfortunate feature also made the sword very difficult to steal. A would-be theif was far more likely cut their own hands or legs or whatevers off a few times over before going three feet with it, and would be both easily discouraged and easy to track by the wide trail of blood.

Though Seriously Sharp, the blade was also very thin, and would sometimes prove difficult to extricate from heavy objects that bound it, thus rendereding its sharpness quite useless. This was yet another drawback of the blade that was used to great comic effect in a Wizbits episode.

The Pird of Ithbarg was also plagued by another problem regarding his sword: The Lawmakers. These strict officials, the precursors to the bureaucratic Item Law Makers Guild, had many problems with the blade and audited it several times. First, the name was an issue, as some of the Lawmakers found it to be far too alliterative, and questioned whether "Sharp Sharpness" was strictly redundant or actually clarified just how very sharp the blade was. Next, the word "Seriously" was audited, as interpretations of the word in the present time may have been different than those at the time of its forging, which might require a petition of name change. The Lawmakers would also periodically call for tests of sharpness, to determine how best the name of the item might distinguish it from other weapons enchanted with sharpness. Inquiries of this nature would plague King Dosunk his entire life, as it did everyone who wielded the sword after him.

This meant that Dosunk's sword was bound up in procedure so often that he was rarely able to use it, as use of the item while its name or functions are under investigation or audit were strictly forbidden. However, at those occasions when the Sword of Seriously Sharp Sharpness was unfettered by the growing pains of Item Laws, when drawn and used... all who witnessed agreed that it was "awesome".
