Rubian Crystals

Used in powering the Rystran based Rubian Suits of the Wizbits Extreme team familiars, Rubian Crystals are actually a rather mundane semiprecious gem found primarily in the Bothorian mines. Until their energy potential was discovered, Bothorian miners found the gems to be something of a nuisance, as their relatively weak crystalline structure and abundant proliferation throughout the surrounding rock strata were the cause of many cave ins and mining accidents.

Once the crystals true potential was discovered however, they became much more prized. In their natural state, Rubian Crystals emit only tiny, though reliable, amounts of energy. However, if many such crystals are linked together, they are forced to release their energy in a massive sustained output, known as the Bothorian Power Matrix.

It was this reaction that the Wizbits Extreme used to activate the dreaded Rubinoazon. The Rubian Crystals in the Rubian Suits will only continue this reaction as long as all of the 2992 crystals are aligned, or until all power within the crystals is exhausted, with an average burnout time of just under 5 minutes.

After they are used, the crystals are converted into inert quartz, and must all be replaced and meticulously realigned.

Should not be confused with Crystal Rubians, which are totally different.
