RAE Con '97

RAE Con '97 was the first great meeting of the online fans of ELotH:TES, as the leading posters from rec.arts.elothtes, alt.fan.elothtes, and alt.fantasy.elothtes all got to meet each other face-to-face, put aside old grievances, and start new ones.

This was also the site of the Great ELotH:TES Fandom Council, at which everyone was supposed to agree on important ground rules for fandom, like decisions about what was canon and whether Book 3 was any good. Unfortunately, no notes were taken, and nobody can remember what, if anything, was actually decided.

Some members of The Council of Elders claim that this is where they first met, but none of them can prove that they were there, so everyone just assumes they're lying.

Tycho Brahe made an official appearance at the con and answered many questions; mostly with derisive laughter. He also gave a lecture.
