Professor Dervmont's Big Date!
The Wizbits, Episode 206
Aired 15th October, 2000
One of the episodes that never re-aired on American television due to it featuring really disgusting scenes with the King of the Epic Wolf Men of Mount Wor.
This episode also introduced the Glowing Fence Cage of Combat. Luckily, most American children were able to download this episode illegally over the internet.
Summary
The episode begins with Professor Dervmont's mother setting him up with a pleasant Quilp girl named Delilah for a date on Quilpay. The Professor has little experience with the ladies, however, and frets endlessly about what he should do. With Lander's help, he attempts to act natural during the date, but a series of unfortunate calamities occur, making him more and more nervous, eventually ending up in a Glowing Fence Cage of Combat where he and his date spar with unusually large boffer weapons.
However, the date gets interrupted when Quilpo attacks, and all the Quilp rush out to get their various broken things fixed. To make matters worse, The King of the Epic Wolf Men of Mount Wor makes his move to rain chaos on Quilpopolis. With the help of the Wizbits and Quilpo, the King is driven off with no harm done.
Moral
Skip: Hey, boys! Ever feel awkward around girls? Don't we all? Just don't mess with them. Trust me on this. I could go on.
Notes
- This episode was aired once but never repeated. Due to a cataclysmic error, the original Japanese footage was used for five minutes, including the defeat of the King of the Epic Wolf Men (actually an original Epic Wolf Man champion in the original)--by running on the streets of Quilpopolis bare-footed and dying in a pool of his own blood.
- Originally, this episode was going to have an animated-in crossover with The Merch (see below), integrated in at various points. The Merch was going to promote the Wizbits into buying as many Quilpay souvineers as possible to stimulate the economy, else he would become The Fleshreaper and collect torsoes. The episode was, incidentally, going to feature actual torso-collection. Some of the animators for the new footage agree that the Epic Wolf Man dying in a pool of his own blood was far better for kids.

There's clearly an original air date for this episode on the Episode Guide. It may never have been re-run since that day, but I'm sure it did air at least once. -lou |
