Lord Kinlo

"Gragh," the Warriorlock spat, "who are you to question our authority?"

The figure, oblivious to the insults, strode further through the impenetrable mists of the swamp.

"Answer us!" the Wutel champion roared. "Answer or die, you lanky interloper!"

The figure straightened up. "I... am Lord Kinlo."

"By the Lost Son," the Warriorlock sank to his chitinous knees, "now that's a standard!"

--Extract from the Kinlo's Legacy novella by Art Huwel

Lord Kinlo was an ancient, ten-foot-tall humanoid entity who appears to herald from none of the Khith-Cohoris-Wutel member states. At eleven feet tall* he was a mighty archer, feared by all of his enemies. Never seen without his obsidian armour and his huge ebony halberd, he was feared by all of his enemies, albeit for a suitably mysterious and unknown reason. The Khith-Cohoris-Wutel flocked understandably to his standard, which was pretty damn cool looking. He is also the author of several books on warfare and tactics, most notably the three volume work "Weapons and Tactics of the Cohoris" and the short romantic novel "Swords and Scabbards."

Lord Kinlo is generally regarded as one of the most ambitious of all of Battal's leaders- He did, for example, show he'd face every challenge by agreeing to marry Blatt in order to assure the loyalty of the Khith. Rather cleverly, he proceeded to use his new wife to appease the demands of Wondathil the Wutel Warriorlock (who would later be his most prized Lieutenant), becoming the absolute, undisputed and suitably epic ruler of the Khith-Cohoris-Wutel.

Through means not entirely explained he was pulled forward in time (presumably by the likes of Char Reyarteb) to defeat the enemy that prophecy had destined him to fight, the Four Underdogs, as told in the ElamenSTAR anime.

Fan Art

Yet another sketch attempting to recreate one of Art Huwel's suitably epic Encyclopaedi Elemenstorus inks. The most well captured aspect must be Lord Kinlo's suitably impressive shoulderpads!

* His actual height in the English feet is unknown. The varied measurements of 10-11' is based estimation of the Khith measurement of squith where there are ~37 squith to the English foot.

Kinlo's fame, even outside the hardcore fanbase, has led to his name being applied to the derogatory term "Kinloboy".
Somewhat illogically, Kinlo features in The Wizbits Cartoon: first appearing in Dark Wecrets alongside Wootie.
There seems to be some controversy as to how or if Kinlo could have fought the underdogs, but it seems clear that he in fact did. After all, it's unlikely that it was a different Lord Kinlo.
