Letters From Home (家書)

ElamenSTAR (R) Episode 216

Aired 27th September, 1997

Summary

Third episode in a four-part story arc in which the Four Underdogs split up to return home in hopes of finding more information about "the heart of the world."

Phila heads home, but (characteristically) gets lost along the way. She soon finds herself wandering dark, strange pathways, trudging through the occasional bog... and then she is set upon by a band of nefarious Myrkmoomin!

With the help of her Gnarled Land Squid, Myrtle, Phila manages to beat back the Myrkmoomin and a handful of Dyemons when the darkness grows quiet and a strikingly attractive teenaged girl appears. "My," she muses in dulcet tones, "Aren't you a fat, ugly little girl?" Before Phila can respond, the darkly beautiful girl adds, "No matter, you can be my pet while I look for something more... aesthetic."

It is the Dark Elemenstrix Kapybara! A conflict erupts, but can Water Elemenstation overcome the Mistress of Myrkmoom and allow Phila to escape back to Battal?

Notes

The episode's title actually refers to the end of the episode, where an exhausted Phila runs into a mail carrier with several months' worth of undelivered mail. It turns out that someone back home actually misses her and writes regularly--a fact which helps Phila's self-esteem tremendouly after the emotional and physical beating she took from the vicious Kapybara.
