Obscure Item Commands Law
- Under no circumstances will a magic item be activated by a vocal command in the user's native language.

- Commands in a dead language are preferred.
- Failing that an item may accept commands in a living language if the creator can prove before a committee of at least 3 1/2 neutral parties and 2 representatives of the Item Law Makers Guild the following:

- That the creator does not understand the chosen language.
- That the item in question will never end up in the hands of a bearer who speaks the chosen language, and particularly that no bearer of the item will understand the specific command words in any context other than as a command to said item.

- Timesorc'ley is allowed as evidence both for and against the chosen commands.
- This law does not apply to items capable of speech as defined in Item Law #141.
