Back to the Wang Kingdom
High August Jade Lotus Emperors
The name for the ruling line of the Wang Kingdom. The most illustrious of these rulers include Wang Yi the Magnificent Bastard, Shen Jingbing the Insane, Cao Shaitu the Slayer of All Things Slayable, Kang Chi-Nu the Perverted, and Ke Peirui the Conqueror of Harlots. While these rulers brought much needed order to The Wandering Age, their reigns were sporadically spaced throughout the period. Indeed, if any one figure can be considered the "ruler" of Wang Era / Wandering Age, it would be the mysterious criminal figure known only as The Shadow Lord.
The rules of accession to the Imperial throne differ significantly from most monarchies. Rather than being the property of one family, the throne is shared between the three ruling families of the Wang Kingdom; the old emperor chooses his successor from one of the three families before he dies. In several instances, the emperor has died without choosing an heir, plunging the kingdom into civil war. The most notable case of this is with Cao Shaitu, who brought the kingdom to civil war while battling his own brother (and pretty much everything else in the kingdom) for the throne.
