Harpy

Bogyn's Nastiness Rating: 56 (Horrifically Nasty)

Humanoid birds born via Chimera that abosrbed and mutated a combination of Sleenie and Tangu. They are vicious and cruel, and can sense guilt in people, targeting and preying on their insecurities and doubts. Harpies enjoy slowly harassing and stealing from their victims, luring them out into the wilderness and slowly starving them to death. Harpies are found in deserts, lost islands, and ruins. They enjoy digging up tarnished treasure and carrying it back to their colonies as decoration. Harpies actually live in underground colonies, creating elaborate systems of tunnels in the earth to lay their eggs and raise their young communally.

A fairly large Harpy colony was unearthed in Portund when the Portunian Valley was suddenly formed during the final battle of the War That Ended the Peace.

Although their visages are horrifying, their voices are hypnotically erotic and mindwarping.

Harpies are very, very common enemies in just about any Elemenstor videogame, such as Final Furniture VII and the Epic Fantasy Warrior Quest series. They are at their worst in underground sections of the games, where players will often run into Harpies as a random encounter about once every three steps. This has inspired a popular \"Yet Another Harpy Attacked You!" internet meme on videogame and Elemenstor messageboards, which is used in situations discussing a poorly designed videogame, or a videogame with a paricularly repetitive and annoying section in an otherwise good game.
