Bogyn's Nastiness Rating: 20 (Quite Nasty)

Cousin to the Griffin and Hippogriff, the Gryphon finds itself in an awkward position, not nearly as impressive as the former and certainly not as notably pathetic as the latter, it is often overlooked and seldom properly identified. (This may have to do with The Confusion)

The Gryphon dwells in the same locations as his relatives, frequently found in high altitude locations around Battal. As such, since they are rarely seen doing anything of note, in comparaison to the more-impressive-yet-not-as-impressive-as-a-dragon Griffin, they are often mistaken as one. However, the two have several physical differences of note. Where a Griffin possesses the foreclaws, wings, and head of a mighty eagle, the hindquarters of a lion and the ears of a fox, the Gryphon shares its anatomy with the falcon, cougar and (embarrassingly) the wiener dog. Really, those ears should be a certain tip off, but they are seldom enough to enlighten those unaware of the differences between the two.

In all other ways shapes are forms they are like the Griffin, simply less impressively. In fact, the only place where they are of any note at all is the Mincing Kingdom where they are known for frequently (and viciously) attacking residents without warning and without sharing territory with either of their cousins. This may have something to do with their ears, but that’s not really clear at this point.
