Gorsald the Pedantic

Gorsald the Pedantic was a recurring character in The Wizbits and books one through thirteen. Always seen traveling with his comically mis-matched partner Fregor the Untruthful, Gorsald was a scholar and their journeys together were always to find sacred texts like the Harbinger texts or The Tome of Ayeki-Ya, journeys which often led them to The Wizbits or the protagonists of The Elemenstor Cycle.

Having a great knowledge of many technical bits and rare tidbits, The Wizbits even asked him to come help at the Cerulean Citadel on one of their meetings, but later withdrew their request upon their return. Presumably they were angry at Freyor for misleading them yet again.

Freyor and Gorsald are said to play a large role in Book Fourteen, but it may be a while before we know for sure. There's always a faster way, though...

A famous, Tony-winning play was written about the pair, known as "Fregor and Gorsald are Not Dead", which is a humorous take on how the pair see the plot of each book, as well as what they do in their copious free time. Their mysterious immortal nature is mentioned often throughout the play, though never explained, as it seems to be just as much of a perplexing mystery to the comedic duo as it is to the fans.
