Fist of the Doomenors

Plot

The eighth book in the universally reviled ElemenstorLance series covering the deeds of The Twelve Scourges of Battal. This particular work focuses on Ancev, soon to be the Darth-Lich Ancev. The book starts out innocently enough with Ancev receiving instruction at the Cerulean Citadel. He is an up and coming Doomenor with quite a talent for the manipulation of the undead. After graduation at the top of his class he spirals into a mad pursuit of power. After learning as much as he can about Death Elemenstation he learns of the Death Wand and the condition upon which one may possess it. He obsesses over the Wand for many years until finally coming up with a solution. He invents a method by which he can retain all his magical powers but still be dead. This process he called Darth-Lichdom. He preformed his technique then approached the Eslovat who keep the wand only to have them refuse him. They said that in his current state he was no longer an Elemenstor and therefore could have no claim on the Wand. Ancev was furious and attacked the Eslovat. In this ensuing battle Ancev lost his left hand and had to retreat. During the time after the battle Ancev decended into despair as his entire life goal had been snatched from his reach. It is then that Dread Dyemon Lord Jgorloruy, Harbinger of Corruption reached out to the depressed Darth-Lich and gave him a purpose, to lead his dreaded Cult of Jgorloruy.

Reaction

Much like the previous works in The Scourges Pentadecaphron this particular one was banned by Congress from all schools and libraries. In fact the text itself is in the form of an eldritch tome the practically oozes darkness. The work actually contains complete spells and rituals to Jgorloruy (whether they actually work or not is up for debate). The final straw for the book was when several angsty teenagers tried to inact Darth-Lichdom on one of their number, nearly causing their death.

The book initially drew devoted fans of ELotH off guard as the writing in the first section of the book when Ancev is in the Cerulean Citadel is quite good and provides an interesting look at the life of a Doomenor in the school. However once the book leaves the Citadel it takes a decidedly darker tone that grows deeper and darker as the work progresses. Most fans who actually purchased the book just cut the first part of the book away from the second part. There have been rumors though of people who have done this having horrible nightmares and being haunted by ghosts. The rumored solution is to utterly destroy the second half of the book via Holy Water, Fire, and Nuclear Incineration.
