Fischer-Bosch

German translation of the ELotH texts was first undertaken in 1988 by the Berlin publishing house of Fischer-Bosch GMBH. Fischer-Bosch provided translation for most of Realmword Publishing's European market products, probably as the result of an private agreement between Realmword CEO Mich Fehkoo and Fischer-Bosch's chief foreign editor, Hans Baum.

The Fischer-Bosch translations should not be considered canon. The texts are extensively modified from the original by the concatenation of several disparate fantasy threads stolen from other series (such as the "Dragonlance" novels and the works of Larry Niven). That people still insist on drawing support for their arguments using Fishcer-Bosch translations is inexcusable, as I have extensively documented the problems with F-B since at least 1993, before alt.fan.elothtes and when the entire elothetes online community was housed on a gopher site at UC Berkeley.
