Final Furniture VII

Playstation, 1998

An RPG apparently taking place in an alternate Elemenstor universe, where elements of the series are retained but are inconsistent with the canonized telling of the Sundering. The story follows the fate of the rebel group of Vampyres who call themselves "EARTHQUAKE", who foil an attack of Vhadxi on a Power Crystal of Shadia. As the tale unfolds, the party adventures throughout a strange version of the Vampyric Wars, meeting and incorporating characters from all walks of life in Battal, and discovering the true nature of the spiky-haired main character, Fogg Struggl and his companion/love interest Eolia, who was destined to die tragically. The game was largely responsible for the introduction of the Elemenstor Saga to a whole new section of the population, and was largely regarded with disdain by hardcore fans. The game's maker, CubeSoft, titled the game "Final" under the assumption it would be their final game before being forced to shut down from bankruptcy. They were fully correct and "Final Furniture" remains aptly titled. Note that it wasn't actually the seventh game of a "Final Furniture" series; the complete title was "Final Furniture: Vunderbort's Irresponsible Idol", which has caused a significant amount of confusion.

The major characters of the game--Fogg (the hero), Eolia (the totally dead love interest), Bumbly the Peep (the mascot), Qiumulis (Fogg's clone brother/father from the past and future), Spann (the gentleman puglist), Vunderbort (alchemist and bumbler), and Vantoth (vampiress warrior with possible attraction to other women)--have long outlived the franchise.

Due to the popularity of the game, the same studio that produced ElamenSTAR produced a computer-animated movie that acted as a sequel to the game, called Final Furniture VII: Accession Progeny. Although it was popular amongst hardcore fans of the game for its eye-orgasming visuals and for finally conclusively tying up plot threads that the game left ambiguous, it was also called "Self-indulgent fanboy self-fellatio" by many others.
