Feline Resurrection

At the James Langomedes Candlelight Vigil, there were as yet unsubstantiated reports of miracles occuring, but the one that has been the most puzzling is that of the resurrection of Ms. Ella Finlayson's siamese cat, Skip (not to be confused with Skip, the Wizbit; the cat was actually named after Skip Stephenson, host of Real People).

Finlayson, 76, claims that while she was on her way to the vigil, her beloved feline was shot with an air rifle and killed. Not wanting to miss the vigil, however, she brought the deceased cat with her. She claims there was a moment during which James Langomedes coughed, and the fallen Skip stirred in her arms.

Proving her report has been difficult. While there was a video feed from Langomedes' bedside during the vigil showing that he did indeed cough, (causing widespread cheers from the crowd that had gathered) no one is sure if the cat actually was dead. No other witnesses of the resurrection have come forward, and although the cat displays the scar of a wound consistent with an air rifle, the pellet itself has never turned up (Finlayson claims that the pellet turned to ash as Skip's wound closed and life was coughed into him by Langomedes).

Scientists suggest that the cat may merely have been stunned by the shooting, and explain the rapid healing of the wound by suggesting that it might have been inflicted at some time in the past.

Nonetheless, some have murmured that evidence of a miracle could be the first step toward the canonization of James Langomedes.
