Back to Siege of Arkleaf

The Eulogy Song of the High Weaver

One of the many songs found in Book of Lost Legendary Tales. This song was sung by Herrodwyn, the Sovereign Elector of Shamanicists of the Shamanic Priest Caste of Arkleaf at the great funeral of Peladdywynnyd.

Tens of tens of thousands pile,

and tens and tens of thousands more,

axes gloaming 'neath the moon,

ringing on the Arkleaf's door...

Sad tidings on our ears do fall,

A High Knitting-Master we have lost,

Poor Gyntyllion bears the cost,

this Cohoris and the Admiral,

never should have crossed.

This last part was spoken by Herrodwyn while a chorus of Cohoris hummed behind him in what he later claimed was an impromptu display, which everyone agreed must have been choreographed in advance.

We are in the last Great Days of the Great Arkleaf.

Remember ye all its greatness, and give great pause to its passing.

We are in the last Great Days of Arkleaf.

The last great day, passing into night.
