Description

Escargoth is depicted as a human dressed as a beaten up butler. Escargoth is servant-god of Gespeshio. It sounds worse than it looks, which is pretty amazing. The other Hierarchs make fun of him for being a servant to a lowly Higherlark but Escargoth seems to take it in stride. It seems the he actually enjoys serving Gespeshio for some odd reason, most think its because he's a masochist. A result of this life style is that Escargoth's voice is the most painful anyone has ever heard. One unfortunate victim described Escargoth's voice as sounding "something like five cats having their nipples tortured while a lounge singer tries to kill an elephant, only weirder and more nasal."

Escargoth isn't worshiped alone by anyone. However his name is sometimes mentioned along side Gespeshio's when Gespeshio is doing something unpleasant (usually it's Escargoth that is doing it).
