It is in this episode where the underdogs learn of Aklom Reklats, and that the unusually strong powers they are beginning to manifest mean that they are meant for a larger destiny than freeing one village at a time from monsters and tyrrany.

Also, Lander helps a quilp that is stuck in a thorn patch. The quilp appears several more times in the episode, always in danger and seeming incapable of getting out of it by his own devices. In the end, Lander says that the quilp would be better off coming with them.
