Battle of the Rebuilt Kingdom

Summary

Prologue: The Four Underdogs talk about the events of the past and how destiny has guided them to this critical moment. Lander tells of how his training and effort has lead to this very moment. Fantasmaphila discusses how her meeting with Lander has destined her for this. Wendell expounds on how his natural talent and massive power has lead to this inevitable confrontation. Myrtle tells of how her meeting of the other three has motivated her and has made her ready for the destinied fight. Credits.

Act I: The Four Underdogs head deep into the Savage Barrenlands under the guidance of Aklom Reklats in order to fight Char. Coming upon his fortress the Four assault the outer walls with the techniques they have learned through their travels. As the War Men pour out of the fortress the Underdogs use their mighty gears to obliterate their foes. The epic battle rages on without Char being anywhere to be found. Finally as the Four begin to become exhausted the top of the citadel explodes and out descends Char, full of wrath and ready to fight.

Act II: Char is sitting in the tower of his citadel waiting on his evening meal. He thinks back to the time he spent with his teacher, Harbinger Portent, and how he struck him down to acquire the Starborn Gem. He then thinks to the future, about his plans for Battal, and the destiny that the Starborn Gem had revealed to him. The Gem had shown him a vision of Four youths that would utterly destroy him and break the Gem's power. The Gem though had told him that this destiny could be avoided for he and the Gem were above destiny and that was exactly what he intended to do. Just then Char is snapped out of his daydream as his cook brings him his meal of roasted chicken. As he is about to bite into the first piece he hears the sounds of battle outside. He lays down the piece and gets up from his chair and steps forward quickly accidentally stepping on the head of the chicken on his plate that the cook had sloppily discarded. A loud CUCKOO! goes up from the head as it explodes in a massive shock wave destroying the tower that Char was in. Char, shaken up from the explosion, recovers and sees the battle below in which Four youths were battling his army. Char knew them for who they were and decided to face his destiny head on.

Act III: Char and the Underdogs face each other for the first time. Char shuns his destiny and flies into epic conflict with the Underdogs flinging all the power of the Starborn Gem against them knocking them to the ground. As the smoke cleared from the initial attack Char finds that the Underdogs are unharmed but rather protected by a barrier of light. It is then that he is confronted with his old teacher in the form of the Ocumen. The Ocumen seals the power of the Gem and leaves the Four to fight Char. Gears are thrown back and forth leveling the citadel and fortress. It looks as though the Four may lose but then Aklom tells the Four to channel their power into the Gem in order to purge Char's connection to the Gem. The Four channel their powers through the Ocumen into the Gem and Aklom combines his power with theirs purging the Gem of Char's spirit and irreparably damaging the Gem. Then the Ocumen channels the enegies into Char himself dissolving his very being.

Epilogue: The final section is narrated telling of the future deeds of the Four and predicting the return of Char.

Notes

This episode takes place in the "Rebuilt Kingdom" of the Savage Barrenlands, which Char Reyarteb restored in exchange for the unquestioning loyalty of the savage War Men. Thus the fight between the Four Underdogs and Char is known as the Battle of the Rebuilt Kingdom.

After this series was wrapped it was assumed that this would be the point at which the story of the underdogs would end, but due to the popularity of the characters in Japan, it was decided to continue the story where the radio dramas left off.

The ElamenSTAR movie Super ElamenSTAR - My name is Phila! bridges the gap between the end of season 3 of ElamenSTAR and the beginning of Season 4 for fans of the anime not familiar with the radio dramas, and provided a nice link of continuity for those who were fans of both works.

In episodes of ElamenSTAR which take place later within the timeline of the four underdogs, Char Reyarteb is also depicted using mind control on certain forces of War Men, presumably in times when he required them to perform actions other than killing indescrimanently.

In the Epilogue a different narrator is used than the one used in the rest of the series. The narrator is none other than Tycho Brahe who was asked to narrate the epilogue as it was his Elemenstor Cycle that covered the return of Char and the after effects of the deeds of the Four. Remarkably Tycho does a spectacular job of narrating the end of the show, leaving many of the crew in tears by the end.
