Epic Fantasy Warrior Quest II: Four Balls of Utmost Roundness

The ground-breaking 1987 sequel to the original Epic Fantasy Warrior Quest. It was more well-recieved in the US than Japan. It was released in North America under the title of Wizbit Worlds II: Dude, Where's My Balls? and later a PAL version was released in 1988 under the title of Princess Crumpet and the Hedgehogs, with much of the graphics significantly altered.

Story

Four eight year olds carrying the "Four Balls of Utmost Roundness" (forged from the split quarters of the Ball of Utmost Roundness in the first game) appear in the majestic but strange castle city of B'd Corona, signaling the arrival of the "Ball Breaking Warriors", who will defeat the Four Terrors who plan on trying to create a black hole in the center of Battal that will implode the planet on itself.

Gameplay

The game begins with character creation, based on an archaic pen and paper RPG system. The main characters all mute and nameless, although some of the text in the game hints at them being the Other Four Underdogs, a lesser group of Elemenstors with the powers of the Secondary Elements. There are eight character classes to chose from in the beginning of the game, although only four are actually useful (the Juggler class serving no purpose, really, other than for the amusement of having a Clown in your team). An opportunity for a character class change to Juggler can occur at any time.

One notable thing about the gameplay is the requirement of the characters to constantly eat, lest they die of hunger. The game would reminds you of this in a digitized voice: "Elemenstor Needs Food Badly".

It is possible to select "air" as a target in battle to attack, accomplishing nothing but making your characters look like morons.

Characters

Party Members

  • Other Four Underdogs: A second-rate quartet of the Four Underdogs with the powers of Life, Death, Stream, and Carry. The player determines their character classes, but they always have a sub-class of the corresponding element.

Other Characters

  • Tinsel: An evil knight who kidnaps . . .
  • Princess Tomato: The strange monarch of B'd Corona.
  • Barnacle Bill: Swarthy but feminine king of the pirates.
  • T'ler D'rden: A hunky but violent Mean Elf extremist.
  • Magda: A witch who has her eye stolen from her by Barnacle Bill.
  • The Four Terrors: Chairluthu, Queen Termite, Kudzu, and Lick.

Trivia

  • Characters were able to jump by hitting the B-button on the map. This accomplished nothing, but was kind of cute.
  • For unknown reasons, high heel shoes are included as equippable weapons throughout the game - comprising their own class. Long did many players seek out the Charnel Wyrm to get the coveted Mythril Shoes item drop.
  • In some versions of the game, Pi was obtainable as a character level through a small glitch involving Forest Kobolds. This caused the game to get stuck in a causality loop of it constantly trying to calculate the whole number.
