Back to Types of Elemenstors

Doomenor

A Death Elemenstor.

The most common misconception about Death Elemenstors is best summarized in Book 4 by Borold Gravelsnot III.

They're always evil. ALWAYS. While it's not uncommon for highly skilled Elemenstors to attain some working knowledge of the Death Element, if it becomes their primary area of study you're better off murdering them for the sake everyone else.

While it is true that the evil of heart are often drawn to Death Elemenstation, being a Doomenor is not inherently evil in the way that Dark Elemenstors certainly are.

Being one of the core Secondary Elements, it is possible to study this important facet of existance for academic or constructive reasons. Doomenors are often led down a dark path, perhaps due in part to the grim nature of the subject, but there are several canon examples of well respected (well, not really respected, but certainly respectable) Doomenors such as Malazor the Desicated.

As is well known, Elemenstation is essentially a form of channeling, and the regular channeling of Death energy takes a powerful toll on the user. Most novice Doomenors never make it past their first use of the power, the incredibly malicious energy of Death itself reducing them to withered husks in seconds. This has its plusses and minuses. On the one hand, it keeps the crop of surviving Doomenors small, but on the other hand, it virtually guarantees the remainder to be horrifyingly good at what they do.

Doomenors can be easily spotted. The aforementioned ravages of Death energy give them an unmistakably cracked, withered appearance, despite vain attempts to cover the effects of this hyper-aging with foundation and blush. Doomenors will inevitably wear black cloaks with accompanying black hoods. This is where the expression, "Wearing your motive on your sleeve," comes from. Doomenors are also fond of large, gaudy amulets and pendants; after all, one does want a hint of color (see Amulet of the Supreme Deadening).

Notable Doomenors:

Non-canon, though very popular:
