Deadlings

A corpse brought to life using Death energy. More than a simple zombie (which are simply dead things that don't know when to quit); deadlings can think, move, and heal wounds normally and are therefore nearly indistinguishable from everyday living creatures. In fact, a deadling might not realize that he has been reanimated, until he tries to use a Healing spell on himself and nearly gets killed (again) in the process. Deadlings do not react well to Life-based spells.

The existence of deadlings has caused philosophers to contemplate the possibility of some sort of "anti-soul", but this is merely speculation.
