Creature Families

As put forward in The Origin of the Monsters, most of the creatures in the ELotH franchise belong to two to three families. Creatureologists in Battal believe that all monsters in a single family can be traced back to a single Progenitor Creature of the Most Discerning Races.

Aquatic

If it swims, it's grouped into the Aquatic family. There is some debate as if to floating or dogpaddling counts as swimming.

Avian

Birdlike qualities place a creature in the Avian family of creatures, and typically include beaks and feathers.

Bestial

If it's fuzzy and has teeth, a creature is counted as a Beast.

Chimeric

Any creature which derives features from two or more seemingly incompatible creatures.

Divine

Creatures with direct connections to any deity. Thought to always be beneficial, but the nature of the creature depends entirely on the deity in question.

Dyemonic

Creatures which have a connection to Dyemons, Daemons, Devyls or other nasty Dark Gods.

Draconic

Anything that could reasonably be called a "dragon" by any stretch of the imagination.

Elemental

Related to Elemanifestations or comprised of a living Element.

Fae

Either small and cute or pretty and "swishy".

Furniturian

Furniture and demi-furniture.

Giant

Anything bigger than a barn.

Goop

Any creature that is primarily fluid of some sort.

Insectoid

Creepy crawly creatures.

Filthoid

Small creatures that are fond of, or smell like, waste products of any other creature.

Material

Creatures not made of what one would normally consider meat or vegetable.

Magimal

Like a Reptile, Beast, Insect, or Avian, but with supernatural powers.

Mechanical

Creatures created via Imagineering.

Menoid

Posess a head, two arms, and two legs.

Mutants

Anything with a biology that hurts you if you think about it. Also includes anything that doesn't fit into the other categories.

Reptilian

Like Draconic creatures, but less Epic.

Undead

Was once alive, now isn't quite.

Vegetarian

Creatures that resemble plants, but also have qualities of moving around and eating people.
