The Kingdom of Bron

Founded: 15,866

Collapsed: 15,882

The primary setting for Book 3 of The Brothic Cycle: Wander-God.

Founded in the conquered land of Blee by conquerer and troll-giant Brothic Gandlebar. A land of Giants and Trolls centered around the massive Colossus of Blee which stood at the center of the kingdom and the God-Throne of the Grand Chief sat at its feet, from which the kingdom was governed.

There was little to no civic infrastructure within the nation, having been built on top of the conquered remains of the kingdom of Nar, which itself had no roads or other such infrastructure due to the unique nature of its inhabitants. Little attention was paid to building schools, organizing farming collectives, setting up trade, or other such nation building efforts so it is in fact likely, as later historians would point out, that the nation was on a collision course with collapse regardless of its ultimate fate.

None the less, a culture did emmerge in the land, as culture often does.

Trolls, when left to farm on their own primarily raise carrots. Nobody is quite sure why. As a result, carrots were quite a stable food and a wide array of carrot based receipes in Battal can trace their origins to this short lived nation. Of particular note is Carrot Cake Soup, which makes several appearances in The Elemenstor Cycle.

Bron's single city, the Great Stronghold of Anhelm sat at the end of Bron's only road, the great way which ran from the colossus to the southern hills where Anhelm stood. A massive stone city that seemed to be hewn from massive stone brought from who could guess where. The mayor, a displaced and dyspeptic Gouth name Kasashi harnessed the tremendous potential of the Giant and Troll residents and built a city whose remains still draw tourists to modern Blee.

Bron was ultimately destroyed in the final campaign of the war that allowed for its founding. The combined armies of Parsonya, Morlond's Field and Gerge'a along with the dwarves, the Witch-Elves and Elf-Witches, under the leadership of S'yrf'yl the Immortal, invaded Bron and began the battles that would end the Great War of Magiks and Things.
