The Beutrafficades

The Beutrafficades are the western mountains of The Shield which divide Ithbarg and Ithbarg II, and forms the Western border of Portund. The Beutrafficades are the supposed location of the Really Big Hole.

These mountains feature heavily in legends of The Burnten'ed Times. They are the site of the Old Lost Dwarf Kingdom Beneath Some Mountains Somewhere, and the place where Propitious Opportune obtained the Firebrand Dagger during the Great Journey of Two Months of Great Joinification'ing. Near the foot of its peaks, the terrible Rhaja Lord was defeated in the Great Battle of Great Unificationess.

The southerly extending arm of this mountain range is a line of almost entirely unpassable mountains known as The Strand of the Beutrafficates, or just the strand, and only the central mountain of this peak, Mount Proudsummit, from which the Marmomeme River flows, is passable because of the many trails and paths of the Arildi who inhabit its stony heights.
