Art Huwel

Art Huwel avoids the public, but he is one of the best known "official" ELotH:TES art directors, being responsible for much of the work within the Encyclopaedi Elemenstorus.

Born in Michigan in 1958, Art worked as an IT consultant (company motto: "Wait a few years") before randomly giving it all up and moving to London to pursue a more creative career. It is sometimes thought that his lottery win may have helped matters.

It's assumed that "Art" is an abbreviation of "Arthur", but he may have changed his name, appropriately enough, so that his moniker was more epic and meaningful. While it's true he dabbled in fan art, he was actually hired after James Langomedes spotted his previous work for the ill-fated "Epic Eons of the Future" comics.

Art Huwel was very much responsible for the evolution of Lord Kinlo as both a historical figure and a beloved character. Soon after the success of the Encylopaedi, Art realised just how popular the captions of his inked pictures had proven- as a result he penned a very popular and well-recieved novella, Kinlo's Legacy, which did of course feature the historical quotes he'd fabricated on the spot. Langomedes, as usual, was just happy to get more money: he is purported to have spent his share on a selection of jewel-encrusted child-sized mannequins.
