Arkus

Also See: The Twelve Twisted Evil

Swathed head to toe in black, wearing a large brimmed black hat, black gloves, a long black travelling cloak beneath which his body can be seen bound in black bandages, the tatters of which trail from him. His human but unsettlingly vaguely wolf-like face inspired fear and distrust, even among his peers.

Arkus, as a mortal, found the greatest glee in corrupting the spirits of animals, particularly dogs. Breaking their spirit and then changing them into merciless random killers which would appear to be docile until they picked their arbitrary moment to strike. Arkus took his hounds of evil and sold them in unsuspecting villages, posing as a simple travelling dog merchant, the sort that was quite common in his day. Not until after he had moved on would the night fall, and the sounds of chaos, bloody snarls, and feral rage fill the streets.

When he was finally caught and put on trial it was deemed that he was criminally and unrehabilitatably insane, and so was sentanced to life inprisonment in The Clockwork Fortress. How long he was there, one can not say, for time works funny in that place and prisoners rarely seem to die of old age, nor is the passage of time felt in any measurable way. His next distinct memory was when the Vampyre Mo-pi opened his dark cell, and brought him into a new world of ever night.

Arkus found that among his new abilities he had an even closer kinship with snarling creatures which went about on four legs. When he was tasked with raising an army to lead against the Elves, he took particularly to a breed that Vhadxi had somehow created personally, or had arranged to have created. A beast the Vampyre Lord referred to as a Dyre Wolfbat. He spent some time training them, and they were quick to learn his ways, preferences, and commands.

When he finally met his first foes in battle, a band of Extremely Elves, they fought valliently and inflicted many casualties, but were no match for Arkus's animals, each with unquestioning loyalty and brutality learned from their master.

"Yes. These beasts will suit my needs quite well. Thank you Lord," he said to Vhadxi, bowing low. The creature knelt beside Arkus and let out a mewling growl which sounded almost like a purr.

Armba Alomba, who had remained quiet since Arkus has swept into the room raised her be-puppeted hand. "This guy give me the creeps," Scuzzy said in a loud stage whisper, Armba's lips moving visibly.
