Arkanacleaver

A magic sword from the era of the Magic Sword Kings, the weapon of the ruler of The Land of Thrown Fish. The sword, like that fanciful kingdom itself was rife with strange properties.

The first appearance of the Arkanacleaver was at the feet of Ogema Blood-On-His-Boots; a shining blade sticking out of a large melon. Ogema drew the sword from the melon and rushed a band of attackers who did not seem daunted by the fact that he was weilding a gleaming magic sword. It was not long before the first mysterious property of this mystical weapon was at least partially understood. After Ogema dispatched his foes easily, much to the surprise of onlookers, it became evident that the sword was only visible to Ogema himself.

Later the full workings of the swords invisibility came to light. The sword itself while within the borders of The Land of Thrown Fish was only visible to the rightful ruler of the kingdom. Once taken outside of the borders the sword would immediately become visible to all who care to look upon it. This aided selection of an heir greatly, although there certainly were pretendered who merely claimed to be able to see the sword, but a quick round of single combat with the current king was ultimately a simple and effective test to guard against this.

It was not revealed until after the reign of Ogema the other property of the sword. The sword takes on a different shape and appearance for each of its wielders so for each of the kings of The Land of Thrown Fish they had a weapon which appeared to be very different from that of their predecessor, with the exception of almost always having a gleaming silvery blade (of various shapes and sizes) and the words Arkanacleaver etched on the hilt or blade in an elaborate script.

The blade itself was only one time not a blade at all. During the reign of Akzann Snow-Under-His-Feet it appeared to be a "a decorative chicken stapler."

At the end of the age, The Land of Thrown Fish returned to a rational state of existance. On that day the sword was nowhere to be found. Badass Philosophers put forth that with no true Land of Thrown Fish, there can be no true king of the Land of Thrown Fish, and therefore the weapon simple either blinked out of existance, or lies somewhere completely invisible and formless.

As a side note, the only other person recorded as being able to see the blade within the bounds of its kingdom was Rogue Chronosorcellor Creft Mysterius, who vaguely implied that he had knowledge of the person or force which forged the (often) mighty (usually) weapon.
