Archer
Archers are an age old profession. Unlike the methods used to create the Beef Bridge, an archer, or a group of archers, will travel back and forth across a canyon or river to create a tall, strong arch used to cross the divide.
The death toll is high as arches are regularly constructed within a few hours. Or, in the case of the Bridge of the Eight Hundredth and Twenty Ninth Crossing, constructed during the Battle of The Very, Very, Very, Very Arcane Northern Realms, the bridge was so long that it took almost 2 days to complete, at the cost of nearly 3,895,075 lives. The actual count is unknown.
Some archer guilds have been known to use large spring loaded seige engines to move workers back and forth across a gap, the lands being the most common cause of death. However, before the developement of these Spring Loaded Gap Crossers many more archers tended to die simply crossing the rivers or attempting to climb across the canyons.
Call them archers.. but never call them bridgers.
