Animal Tamer

Animal Tamers come in many forms. There is the Falconer, who trains birds (usually, as the name suggests, falcons) to hunt and send messages. There is the Dog Trainer, whose skills and exploits are celebrated in annual competition. And of course, there is the legendary Seigfriedus, tights-wearing men who corrals lions with a chair and a whip.

An Animal Tamer is useful for any party simply because of the number of animals you will meet on any particular journey. Sure, you have a Hero capable of slaying Dragons and Elemenstor who can sling fire like a man possessed, but are either of them fit to deal with a maudering pig? More than one adventuring party has fallen to spiders, pit bulls, and other non-magical creatures that most simply don't have any experience with.

If your party lacks an Animal Tamer, you can usually deal with animals by feeding them a Bardic and then running away. However, since most parties have at most one Bardic, it's best to have an alternate way to deal with them.

Some animal tamers have a intrinsic supernatural ability to communicate or dominate animals.
