Alnwein

Alnwein is a beautiful brown haired, green eyed, lithe and buxom Kelembadian Battlebard who is married to Vulthar. The two learned the secrets of the Star of Kelembad and became the leaders of Kelembad during the last days of the Vampyric Wars. It was their leadership and unusually long life span (possibly even immortality) that allowed Shattered Kelembad to reform into the First United Republic of Terle. Alnwein's weapon was Morletto, the Singing Blade one of the fabled or more correctly to be fabled 100 Swords of Sepathok which she found on the ground during one of the battles of the Vampyric Wars. The blade called out to Alnwein, in fact sang out to the duo as they were fighting nearby and attracted the two to it.

After acquiring Morletto the two worked to combine the abilities of the blade with the innate abilites of Vulthar and Alnwein. What came out was a combat style known during later times as the Star of Kelembad, the pinnacle of combat styles for battlebards. With Alnwein's speed, Morletto's singing ability and Vulthar's skill with the zither, the three made a formidable force to be reckoned with. After a year of training (during which the two disappear from the official records of Kelembad) they perfected their abilities and returned just in time for the Clashathon that was held after the death of King T'n'r. Changes had occured to the two during the training with Morletto and the Star of Kelembad. Alnwein and Vulthar no longer wore any armor instead they wore light clothing to facilitate movement. Alnwein's speed had increased to an unfathomable level on par with that of a Wizzard. Vulthar gained the ability to create images of himself that all sang different parts of the song with Morletto acting as soloist. Truly the three had become nigh unstoppable and won the Clashathon with virtually no contest.

In an act of kindness they allowed the former queen, Queen S'pr'no, to continue to hold her position. However during the Last Battle of the Vampyric Wars she was so overcome with grief that she threw herself over Lemmings Bluff into the Chasm of Eternal Sorrow. This action was quickly followed by the Footstool Brigade who in loyalty to there Queen also sacrificed themselves over the bluff. The loss of the former queen and the Footstool Brigade was a large blow to the morale of the Kelembadian troops and it looked as if the battle was lost. Fortunately, the supernatural skill displayed by Alnwein and Vulthar reinvigorated the troops. Using the power of the Star of Kelembad and the alignment of the Hidden Moon with the constellation of O'nv'ience'C the forces of Kelembad manage to defeat the the Vampyric forces and lock Vhadxi away in the CryptoCrypt.

While the forces of the Kelembad won the war against the Vampyres it was at a great cost. The population of Kelembad was badly depleted by the end of the war; plus the war had ravaged the lands so much that the region became known as Shattered Kelembad. With the skills and leadership of Alnwein and Vulthar the region began its slow march to recovery. The Wandering Age brought hard times on the lands but by the end of that turbulent time, Alnwein and Vulthar had managed to reforge Kelembad into the First United Republic of Terle along with part of the Ruins of Blee.

With Terle established and the the council taking control, Alnwein and Vulthar disappeared from the pages of history. It is not known whether they died or if another facet of the Star of Kelembad made them immortal. While others who have mastered the Star of Kelembad have boasted a longer life, none have ever achieved the vitality that Vulthar and Alnwein possessed. It is the popular opinion of those in Battal that the two are still alive but taking a much deserved rest on a tropical island in the Unnamed Sea.
