A Beginner's Guide to Adventuring in Battal

This additional source book made available for the ELotH Pen and Paper RPG is viewed by most as absolutely required for player character creation and for game master's to create their own campaigns. The core rules establish no differentiation between characters created of different races. Additionally, no mention is made in the core rules of the differences between adventures in the many different eras of Battal's lengthy history.

In addition to the information on playable race abilities and bonuses, and an outline of the "ground rules" and variants for each of the eras, this book includes one of the best maps of the Mandleclang region of The Shield that is available.

Notes

This book also included the beginning of the tale of The Dreaming Feculence, and the first run also included an accompanying novel. Subsequent runs have instead summarized the rest of the novel in an additional two paragraphs at the end of the story in the source book.
